The October issue of the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) included an international briefing article entitled “Mining Developments”. The article was contributed by SyCipLaw partner Aaron Roi B. Riturban.

The publication provides an overview of key terms and concepts, including the extent and development of Islamic finance, specific policies of regulatory oversight, definitions and explanations of Islamic finance-specific terminology and financial products, guidelines and regulations for institutions and authorities, dispute procedures, and in-depth analysis and comment of the latest trends in each jurisdiction, all written by today's leading international Islamic finance experts.

The article discussed the first official act of the new secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) that approves new mining projects in the Philippines.
