Thomas Sanders and Deborah Williamson Named 2019 Outstanding Lawyers by San Antonio Business Journal
Dykema, a leading national law firm, is proud to announce that two of its attorneys, Thomas E. Sanders and Deborah Williamson, were selected by the San Antonio Business Journal as 2019 Outstanding Lawyers Awards recipients. Sanders and Williamson are included in a very select list of only 13 lawyers to receive this recognition. They and other recipients will be honored Thursday, Oct. 3 at The Veranda in San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Business Journal, its Outstanding Lawyer Awards recognize lawyers for their contributions to their firms or companies, as well as the community. Honorees were chosen from dozens of nominations.
Sanders serves as the Leader of Dykema’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group. His practice focuses on representing insurers in coverage litigation, high-exposure bad faith litigation, class actions and arbitrations. He also represents clients in a broad range of commercial disputes, including ERISA litigation, false advertising and unfair competition claims, business torts, products liability, and construction litigation. Outside of his practice, Sanders is a Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a Board Member and Vice Chair of Governance for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio, and a Board Member for the Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas, Inc.
Williamson is a member in Dykema’s Bankruptcy Practice Group and Leader of the firm’s Financial Review Committee. She has practiced insolvency and restructuring law for more than 30 years and is regularly called on by clients in a variety of industries for her bankruptcy experience and advice regarding counter-party risk. Williamson is a former President of the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI), served as one of the 19 members of the ABI Bankruptcy Reform Commission and she was the second recipient of the ABI Lifetime Achievement Award. She is a Fellow and Director with the American College of Bankruptcy and a formerly served as Chair of several Bankruptcy-related sections of professional organizations, including the American Bar Association, State Bar of Texas, and Texas Board of Certification.
