Dinsmore’s Harrell Re-elected to WVBA Young Lawyers Division
Dinsmore and Shohl LLP’s Raymond L. Harrell Jr. has been elected to serve a second term as chair of the West Virginia Bar Association Young Lawyers Division.
The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) was formed to ease new attorneys into the practice of law and the West Virginia legal community. It hosts events that provide lawyers social and intellectual opportunities to network among peers, and it helps them learn and grow their legal practice. As YLD chair, Harrell will serve as a voting member of the WVBA Executive Council, which oversees the operations of the WVBA.
Harrell is a labor and employment and government relations attorney whose practice focuses on employment litigation and registered lobbying work. He regularly represents companies in the areas of discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, wage and hour, deliberate intent, unemployment appeals, unfair labor practice, and general litigation. Harrell has defended companies and municipalities in cases involving industrial accidents, premises liability, civil rights and First Amendment claims, consumer credit and protection, real estate litigation, motor vehicle accidents, and other general litigation and disputes.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Florida, where he received book awards for obtaining the highest grades in his legal writing and moot court courses. As an undergraduate student at Marshall University, Harrell served two terms as student body president and student representative to the Marshall University Board of Governors.
