Dinsmore Named LCLD Top Performer for 3rd Time in 5 Years
Dinsmore & Shohl LLP was recognized as a top performer at this year’s Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) annual meeting in Washington, D.C. The designation is reserved for LCLD members and law firms most active in the council’s programs and that most align with and promote its mission of “creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession.”
LCLD awards member firms who participate in their programs, who are active in their alumni network, host learning experiences and leadership lunches and sponsor other LCLD events. This marks the second consecutive year the firm has received the honor, and the third time since 2015. Three Dinsmore attorneys have also been named LCLD fellows since 2016.
“Diversity and inclusion are central to the identity of Dinsmore,” said Chairman and Managing Partner George Vincent. “It is where we strive to be a leader every day, both in the legal profession at large and in the communities in which we practice.”
The top performer designation is consistent with Dinsmore’s steadfast commitment to diversity. Earlier this year, Lawyers of Color ranked the firm 17th nationally in its Black Student’s Guide to Law Schools and Firms, and named Dinsmore Diversity Chair Marty Dunn to its 2019 Nation’s Best list. In September, Women Inc. magazine recognized Dinsmore as a top-100 national law firm for women. Columbus Partner Christian Gonzalez was elected executive officer of the Hispanic National Bar Association in August, and Chicago Partner Lenny Asaro spoke at the Walmart Women’s Summit in the spring, to name just a handful of the firm’s efforts and recognitions in this category.
LCLD was formed in 2009 and now has more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners among its members. To learn more about LCLD’s programs and efforts, visit www.lcldnet.org.
