PLMJ Reinforces its Tax Department with the Arrival of New Partner Isaque Ramos
Isaque Ramos joins PLMJ from McKinsey, where he was responsible for the tax and legal management of projects in Portugal and Africa. Ramos focuses providing consultancy services in Portugal and in international markets. He has previously worked at EY and in the corporate and international tax department of KPMG.
PLMJ managing partner Luís Pais Antunes said the hiring of Ramos was a “decisive step in consolidating the transformation strategy that PLMJ has undertaken to provide high quality legal services to increasingly demanding clients”.
He added: “Isaque Ramos’ recognition in tax - and in the area of transactional taxation in particular - will help us to continue this transformation and maintain our leading position among the largest Portuguese law firms".
Ramos said: "I’m very enthusiastic about joining PLMJ's tax team, which the market recognises as one of the most successful in Portugal and in the Portuguese-speaking world.”
Ramos is the newest member of the tax team, which has also been joined by senior associate Miguel Gonzalez Amado and associate Vítor Loureiro e Silva (both from Cuatrecasas), and associate Inês Cardoso Fernandes (from Vieira de Almeida). The team has also been strengthened by the arrival of João Rodrigues, who was a consultant at Deloitte.
PLMJ's tax team – which includes partners Serena Cabrita Neto, Miguel C. Reis and João Velez de Lima – now has four partners and a total of 25 lawyers.
