Roberto H. Crouzel recognized with the “Lifetime Achievement Award for Pro Bono Work” at the Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards Latin America 2019.
Buenos Aires, 9 December 2019. Roberto H. Crouzel, a partner at Beccar Varela, was recognized with the inaugural “Lifetime Achievement Award for Pro Bono work” at the “Chambers Diversity & Inclusion Awards: Latin America 2019” ceremony, held on December 5th at the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel & Convention Centre. Chambers and Partners, the publication that annually organizes these Awards, has granted this prize for the first time, recognizing outstanding careers in pro bono efforts.
Since Roberto could not attend the ceremony, partner Fernanda Mierez received the award in his name. In Roberto's words, “This award is the result of teamwork with an exceptional group of Beccar Varela lawyers and colleagues, and with partners in the Pro Bono Committee of the Colegio de Abogados de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires, all committed to building a fairer world. I believe and trust that in a few years there will be an unwritten rule among all lawyers in Latin America by which pro bono projects would be a part of our routine. As lawyers, we work for justice, and we have a duty to try to ensure many more in society have access to it. If we succeed in integrating pro bono as a norm for lawyers, we will honour our profession and improve our communities across Latin America”.
