Intellectual Property Attorney Scott Mandir Joins Dinsmore’s Washington, DC Office

April, 2020 - United States of America

Dinsmore & Shohl LLP has welcomed Scott Mandir to its Washington, D.C. office.

He joins the firm’s intellectual property group, focusing his practice on patent law. Mandir has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications for Japanese clients in electronics, software, and high technology and in advising foreign attorneys on U.S. patent law and practice. He is admitted to practice in Maryland and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Prior to joining Dinsmore, he worked for more than four years at Onda Techno International Patent Attorneys, Tokyo, Japan. “Not many American patent attorneys get the opportunity to work in a Japanese intellectual property firm,” Mandir said. “It was a unique experience that gave me great insight into both the Japanese and U.S. patent systems.”

”Scott’s diverse, international experience is a great addition to Dinsmore’s extensive IP practice, and his addition to the D.C. office is reflective of the growth and sophistication of our IP presence here,” said Brian O’Shaughnessy, IP partner in the firm’s D.C. office.

Mandir earned his B.S. in electrical engineering at the University of Maryland and graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 2011.
