Bradley Partner Whitt Steineker Quoted in Politico Pro on Uncertainties for Indirect Marijuana Companies Under the CARES Act

April, 2020 - United States of America

Bradley attorney Whitt Steineker was quoted in Politico Pro on the uncertainty that indirect marijuana companies are facing as they seek federal coronavirus assistance. Several companies such as accounting firms, electrical contractors and gardening supply shops do business with marijuana companies; however, since marijuana is still illegal at the federal level, it’s unclear if these businesses can access federal assistance during the coronavirus pandemic.

“All of this is very much up in the air,” said Steineker. “A lot of this we won't figure out unless and until there's enforcement actions later. I strongly suspect that a number of … indirect marijuana businesses will in fact end up getting loans under the CARES Act.”
