The General Direction of Customs will Implement the Reliable Operator Program to Simplify the Logistics Chain

July, 2020 - Antiguo Cuscatlán, El Salvador

The General Directorate of Customs (DGA) will implement the Reliable Operator Program, with the objective of streamlining customs operations by simplifying and improving the use of new technologies, which is expected to bring economic benefits to users as a result of a reduction in the time taken to process customs operations. Some of the highlights of this program are:

Streamlining foreign trade operations

The Reliable Operator Program will benefit companies in terms of expediting permits, since the requirements or requests for permits will be made expeditiously, derived precisely from the quality of "reliable" users, so Salvadoran companies that have a tradition of exporting will be invited to be part of this initiative.

Modernization of customs systems

In the area of new technologies, the implementation of the Reliable Operator will bring about an improvement in the customs systems, for which the General Directorate of Customs is working jointly with FOMILENIO II, in order to ensure a total migration to the Sidunea Word or Sidunea Digital platform, since one of the fundamental points of the implementation of the program will be to develop the whole line of security and facilitation with the reliability programs)

The implementation of the Trusted Operator Program was announced by the Director General of Customs in a radio interview, and the main points of this interview were shared by the Ministry of Finance, through its website.
