Wirtgen Invest Acquires CHARLIE LIVING in Berlin from TROCKLAND
Wirtgen Invest acquired residential quarter CHARLIE LIVING on Zimmerstraße in Berlin Mitte from TROCKLAND group in an off-market transaction. A team led by Dr. Peter Vocke, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised Wirtgen Invest on the acquisition. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The residential ensemble consisting of four buildings offers 243 apartments, 48 serviced apartments, and commercial space in the heart of Berlin. CHARLIE LIVING was designed by GRAFT architectural office, with partially vertical landscaping by landscape designers Man Made Land serving as a unifying element of the four modern buildings. CHARLIE LIVING was completed early this year.
As a family office, Wirtgen Invest invests not only in real estate, but also in corporate shareholdings and wind farms, for example. TROCKLAND is an investment and project development company focusing on unusual real estate in Berlin and has realized 17 projects at a volume of some EUR 2 billion since 2009.
Wirtgen Invest was legally advised by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, with tax advice provided by Flick Gocke Schaumburg. The acquisition of CHARLIE LIVING is Wirtgen Invest’s third successful transaction with the same team of advisors, following the acquisition of representative office building “T8” at Taunusanlage 8 in Frankfurt am Main from a real estate fund of South Korean financial services provider Mirae Asset Global Investments and the acquisition of office and commercial building "WALLHAUS" at Neuer Wall Hamburg from MOMENI group in 2019.
