Booming Logistics Sector – DORDA Supports Logistics Real Estate Developer DLH in Two Major Projects in the Vienna Airport Region

December, 2020 - Vienna, Austria

DORDA's real estate team supports DLH Real Estate Austria in two major logistics projects in the Vienna airport region: the sale of a part of the "Industrial Campus Vienna East" to Deka Immobilien and the purchase of 30,000 sqm of space as the starting signal for further logistics development. Both projects are located in proximity to the airport Vienna and demonstrate the expansion of the logistics sector in Austria.

Vienna, 3 December 2020 - Stefan Artner, partner and head of DORDA's real estate practice group, and attorney at law Marie-Luise Pugl advised their long-standing client, the logistics real estate developer Deutsche Logistik Holding (DLH) on two major logistics projects. They were assisted by associate Markus Buchleitner.

Two transactions in the airport region: purchase and sale of major projects
DLH sold a 65,000 sqm area of the "Industrial Campus Vienna East" in Enzersdorf an der Fischa to German investor Deka Immobilien. It has been agreed not to disclose the purchase price. After its completion by DLH, the "Industrial Campus Vienna East" will have a total area of over 120,000 sqm, making it the largest logistics campus in Austria. Deka Immobilien's goal is to acquire all properties on the campus. The now sold area "BETA" will be completed in the 3rd quarter of 2021 and will be certified with the gold seal of approval by the DGNB (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen/German Society for Sustainable Building).

Furthermore, DLH signed a purchase agreement for an area of around 30,000 sqm in direct proximity to the international traffic hub of Vienna International Airport. On the site of the "Future Zone East" industrial park, DLH will construct three logistics halls with a total area of around 17,000 sqm. The properties will be optimised to meet the needs of air freight logistics and can be used as flexible storage and industrial light halls.

"Especially in times of COVID-19, logistics real estate has become more and more the center of attention," says Stefan Artner. "We are pleased to support our long-standing client once again. With these projects, DLH is steadily developing its portfolio of logistics real estate and offering the region around the airport a high added value."

"The two project completions are very positive signs for the local economy and we are pleased that we were able to support DLH in the development of these exciting projects in the airport region again," adds Marie-Luise Pugl.
