Rankings for Working Mother's Best Law Firms for Women are determined by an application process that includes more than 300 questions about attorney demographics at different levels, schedule flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women.
Notable key statistics from Working Mother Media's 2020 report include:
- All firms on the list offer formal mentoring and 50 percent of mentees are women.
- The number of women lawyers promoted to equity partner has increased by almost 25 percent in the past five years.
- There was an increase in overall applications, demonstrating a nationwide increase in law firms' commitment to furthering gender equity.
This achievement comes on the heels of a recent ranking by The American Lawyer, which named Hanson Bridgett second for the highest female equity partner percentage.
"We are honored that Hanson Bridgett continues to be recognized year-after-year," said Kristina Lawson, managing partner-elect. "I am tremendously proud to lead a firm that strives to ensure both gender equity and inclusivity, and equity and inclusivity in all respects."
In 2010, Hanson Bridgett established the firm's Women's Impact Network, an internal committee that brings together all women attorneys in the firm—including summer associates—for regular meetings and events, providing support through opportunities for leadership training, mentoring, and client development as they advance through their careers.
Hanson Bridgett's ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion extends beyond the firm's walls. The firm also provides mentorship and support for female law students and attorneys as they advance in their careers.
