Acquisition of Parts of German Oil Production by RDG from Wintershall Dea Deutschland Completed

February, 2021 - Germany

A team led by Dr. Katharina Prasuhn advised energy company RDG GmbH & Co. KG (RDG) on the acquisition of oil production operations from Wintershall Dea GmbH. After all relevant authorities had approved the acquisition, the transaction was closed on February 5, 2021.

RDG took over the oil production facilities in Aitingen, Schwabmünchen, Lauben, Bedernau, and Hebertshausen in Bavaria, operations in Baden-Württemberg, the Landau oil field in Rhineland-Palatinate, and the Suderbruch oil field in Lower Saxony. RDG also took over all employees at these sites.

As a young, growing company, RDG is pursuing a new approach to domestic crude oil production and specializes in optimizing the production of existing fields and aligning the sites towards sustainable and environmentally friendly use. The company has offices in Hanover and Vienna and operates under the umbrella of alternative specialist investor Shorelight (formerly Petroleum Equity). The team led by Dr. Katharina Prasuhn regularly advises RDG on transactions and day-to-day business.
