Peter Kellett Selected for Michigan Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame Class of 2021

Peter Kellett, Dykema’s Chairman Emeritus, was selected as an inductee to the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame. As a member of the Hall of Fame’s Class of 2021, Kellett will be recognized on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, during a virtual recognition program to honor inductees. In addition, a special Hall of Fame supplement will be published in Michigan Lawyers Weekly on April 19, 2021.
According to Michigan Lawyers Weekly, the Hall of Fame program recognizes Michigan’s legal leaders for their notable success and demonstration of strong leadership both within and outside of their chosen field. Those selected must have a long-standing commitment to the Michigan legal community.
Kellett recently completed his third term as Dykema’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Under his leadership, Dykema expanded its footprint into Minneapolis and significantly grew throughout Texas and in Washington, D.C., enhancing the firm’s capabilities to serve clients and handle matters nationally. He led the firm through the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully navigating the various challenges the pandemic brought.
Before being elected as Chairman and CEO, Kellett was the Director of Dykema’s Litigation Department. He focused his practice on class action, product liability and commercial litigation for some of the largest companies in the world. He is recognized annually for his litigation abilities by publications like Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers.
Additionally, Kellett serves as a member of the Downtown Detroit Partnership, whose mission is to advance the city of Detroit by driving engagement, development and programs that benefit businesses, residents and visitors through the Downtown’s urban core. He is a member of the Detroit Economic Club Board of Directors. The DEC is a non-partisan, nonprofit organization committed to shaping a modern business environment through the free exchange of ideas and debate. Kellett is also a member of the Board of Trustees of New Detroit, an organization dedicated to removing racial barriers through economic equity, social justice, and racial understanding.
Kellett earned a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University, and a B.A. from The University of Michigan.
