Gianni & Origoni Focuses on Cybersecurity with the Hire of Stefano Mele

Rome, April 22, 2021 - International law firm Gianni & Origoni announces the hire of new partner Stefano Mele who joins the Rome office with two associates. Stefano will lead a practice dedicated to Cybersecurity.

Stefano is one of the seven lawyers worldwide to be called to take part in the Regulatory and Governance Committee of the Board of Directors of NEOM - the ambitious, futuristic business hub currently under construction in Saudi Arabia which aims, through the use of the most revolutionary technologies, to create a new sustainable ecosystem for living and working.

Stefano has over twenty years of experience in his field and has provided assistance in important and complex transactions, in multiple jurisdictions in the field of new technologies and privacy, as well as on cybersecurity and in crisis management following cyber attacks.

He holds various positions in national and international organizations. President of the ICT Authority of the Republic of San Marino (corresponding to the Italian AGCOM); member of the Board of Directors and President of the Cyber Security Commission of the Italian Atlantic Committee.

Stefano graduated in Law in 2002 and obtained a Master’s in 2003 and a PhD. A member of the Italian Bar since 2006, he is the author of numerous publications on privacy and cybersecurity, is a frequent speaker at conferences in Italy and abroad, and teaches at various universities.
