According to Crain’s Chicago Business, the “Notable Rising Stars in Law” list highlights attorneys who are making an impact in all corners of their profession. All honorees have been partners for five years or less and have served as leaders within and outside of their firms.

After joining Dykema, Silverman quickly ascended to Member status and helped pave the way for the creation and development of the firm’s CMBS Special Servicer Group, to which he was appointed to co-lead. He also serves as Chair of the firm’s nationwide Technology Advisory Committee and is a member of the firm’s Financial Industry Group.

In his practice, Silverman focuses on the areas of creditors’ rights, loan workout, bankruptcy, and loan enforcement on behalf of large, mid-sized, and small banks, financial institutions, fintech companies, and the nation’s largest CMBS special servicers. He successfully represents CMBS servicers and other secured lenders in obtaining the appointment of receivers in highly contested situations.

Silverman’s commercial foreclosure and workout experience spans many sectors, including hotel, retail, and esoteric assets like airports and taxi medallions. He also handles post-judgment collections and fraudulent transfer matters, litigating and resolving matters with significant recoveries to his judgment-creditor clients.

Silverman received a J.D. from Chicago – Kent College of Law and a B.A., cum laude, at the University of Illinois.
