With a team led by Dr. Martin Imhof and Dr. Katja Plückelmann, both partners at the firm’s Dusseldorf office, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek jointly with Accura advised the Danish publisher Watch Medier on the acquisition of 70 percent majority share in the Cologne-based digital trade medium Herbert Frommes Versicherungsmonitor.
Frommes Versicherungsmonitor was launched in 2013 and is now a leading digital source for the German insurance industry. Subscribers include the senior management of almost all insurance companies and insurance brokers in Germany, as well as many industry specialists from industry groups and regulatory authorities.
Watch Medier is part of Denmark's largest media group JP│Politikens Hus. With more than 100 business journalists, Watch Medier publishes 14 subscription-based business-to-business publications in Denmark, three in Norway and one in Germany. They cover various topics such as finance, energy, IT, real estate and shipping. In Germany, the company has launched FinanzBusiness, a news medium about German banks and the financial services industry.
With the acquisition of the majority of Frommes Versicherungsmonitor, Watch Medier further expands into the European markets and particularly strengthens its presence in Germany.
