World Services Group (WSG) is pleased to announce the election of the 2021-2022 Board of Directors. The 2021-2022 WSG Board of Directors will be led by Officers: Stefan Erhag, Delphi, as Chair; Herman Raspe, Patterson Belknap, as Chair Elect; Anastasia Campbell, Graham Thompson, as Secretary; Yvon Dreano, Jeantet, as Treasurer and Ramon Moyano, Beccar Varela, as Chair Emeritus. Mr. Erhag said, “WSG is today a very strong and collaborative global organization through the hard work of Ramon Moyano, Chairman Emeritus, Board Members, Regional Councils, and all of our WSG member firms. I am honored to serve as Chairman of such a successful organization and with members who are focused on offering the highest quality, value and service to clients. I look forward to continuing to add value to WSG and its prestigious Membership.”
The WSG Global Symposium & 2021 Annual Meeting, with over 1,300 registrants, served as the platform from which Ramon Moyano of Beccar Varela transitioned his Chairmanship to Stefan Erhag and extended his heartfelt gratitude and acknowledgement of dedicated participation to our outgoing Directors: Hunter Rost, Waller and and J. Michael Bernard, Dykema. WSG extends a special thank you to Ramon Moyano, WSG Chairman 2019 - 2020 and the outgoing Directors for their exemplary years of service and support in the continuing growth and development of WSG.
The WSG Global Symposium & 2021 Annual Meeting also marked the election of three new Directors to the WSG Board: David Gutierrez, BLP; Xiaoming Li, Han Kun Law Offices and Matt Fisher, Hanson Bridgett. The newly elected Directors will serve a four-year term.
Newly Elected Directors:David Gutierrez, Partner, BLP – Costa RicaDavid Gutierrez is a Founding Partner of BLP. As the Costa Rica member of WSG for three years, BLP has been a welcomed new and active member firm. As a participant in several groups, Mr. Gutierrez has been a valued leader in creating activity. Mr. Gutierrez has also notably served on the WSG Latin America Regional Council since 2019 and has served as Chair in 2021. Mr. Gutierrez is an expert contributor to various WSG webinars bringing knowledge and direction from his background in corporate and commercial law, project finance and infrastructure, and arbitration.
Xiaoming Li, Partner, Han Kun Law Offices – ChinaXiaoming Li is a Partner at Han Kun Law Offices in China. As a member of WSG for six years, Han Kun Law Offices has been an active member of WSG and was due to host the 2020 Asia Pacific Regional Meeting although it was canceled due to the pandemic. During his time at WSG, Mr. Li has been a member of the WSG Dealmakers Group and the WSG Asia Pacific Dispute Resolution Group, an active participant in yearly meetings and an important expert contributor to program panels. Mr. Li has provided comprehensive legal services for numerous foreign investors, including Fortune 500 multinational corporations and private businesses, assisting in setting up business vehicles in China, and representing their Chinese subsidiaries in handling corporate matters, and business transactions.
Matt Fisher, Partner, Hanson Bridgett – California, USA Matt Fisher is a Partner at Hanson Bridgett LLP representing Northern California, U.S.A. As a member of WSG for over four years, Hanson Bridgett has been an active member of WSG and was planning to host the 2020 Meeting of Americas (anticipated to reconvene in 2022) in their home city of San Francisco. During his time at WSG, Mr. Fisher has been an active participant in nine WSG groups and has participated on the North American Regional Council form 2019 -2021. Matt Fisher practices in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, fund formation and venture capital, and is a trusted leader for institutional investors both domestically and internationally.
