November, 2021 - Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Recording Date: 3 November 2021

Watch this brief, concise and easy-to-follow 2 minute video to give yourself a proper and informed understanding on Cambodia’s new Competition Law and its regulatory framework.

Cambodia’s long-awaited Competition Law was signed into law by the King on 5 October 2021. While the Law has been enacted, the principal regulatory body, the Cambodia Competition Commission has not yet been established and it is not clear how the Law will be enforced prior to a) such establishment and b) the issue of required regulatory instruments and decisions.

In this video, David Fruitman (Regional Competition Counsel, Senior Consultant) gives an insightful overview of what the Law puts into place: framework for investigations, the decisions, penalties, regulatory bodies and the market economy system and its basic rules.
