Storskogen acquires leading ready meal producer with Heuking

A team led by Stuttgart-based Partner Dr. Hermann Ali Hinderer legally advised Storskogen Deutschland GmbH on the acquisition of A & K - Die frische Küche GmbH, a leading ultra-fresh ready meal producer and meals-on-wheels distributor for food service institutions, via its subsidiary Casino Services. The company will be part of Storskogen’s Products business unit in the Industry segment.
Following the acquisition of SF Tooling Group at the end of 2021, this is already the second recent transaction where Storskogen was advised by Heuking.
Storskogen acquires and operates well-managed and profitable SMEs in the Industry, Retail, and Services business areas in Northern Europe, the German-speaking region, and the UK. As of September 30, 2021, Storskogen consisted of 94 business units with a total of some 7,000 employees and annual sales of about EUR 1.8 billion.
Headquartered in Recklinghausen and operating sites in Wuppertal and Alsdorf, A & K - Die frische Küche GmbH employs about 150 people and generated sales of EUR 16 million in 2021. Some 20,000 meals daily are prepared in the company’s Cook & Chill kitchen with ten production lines. Meals are distributed to various facilities and households in the vicinity of its two sites via its subsidiary Casino Service, a meals-on-wheels company.
