Aquila Capital joint venture sells solar park developer to Shell with Heuking
With a team led by Christoph Prochnau and Dr. Michael Dröge (both Hamburg office), Heuking legally advised solar-konzept International GmbH, a joint venture co-founded by Aquila Capital, on the sale of solar development company solar-konzept Italia Srl (SK Italia).
In addition to Aquila Capital, a group of operating shareholders are also invested in the joint venture, including solar-konzept International GmbH’s general managers Nikolaus von Einem and Christoph Schmitt.
The acquisition increases Shell’s solar development pipeline in Italy to approximately 2 GW and supports Shell’s global ambition to supply customers with renewable power. The 10-person SK Italia team will bring valuable experience in agrivoltaic project development. The team will develop the combined portfolio, continue to pursue new projects, and support Shell’s corporate power purchase agreement offerings to customers.
On behalf of the seller, the transaction was managed by Dr. Matthias von Neumann-Cosel, Aquila Head of International M&A. The Italian part of the transaction was advised by law firm Chiomenti in coordination with Heuking.
