Financing of entry into First Climate AG with the participation of Gestalterbank

With a Frankfurt-based team led by Partner Thomas K. Schrell, business law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Volksbank eG and Commerzbank Aktiengesellschaft on funding the investment in First Climate AG by investors advised by HANNOVER Finanz GmbH and the existing shareholders.
First Climate is a leading provider of climate protection solutions and renewable energy. The service provider supports companies and organizations worldwide in achieving their climate and sustainability objectives. Its core competencies cover products and services relating to carbon neutrality, green energy, green investments, and project development. Headquartered in Bad Vilbel, the company currently employs about 70 people.
HANNOVER Finanz, founded in 1979, has more than 40 years of experience as an equity capital partner for SMEs. The private equity house based in Hanover was one of the first venture capitalists in Germany and the German-speaking region. It is a second-generation owner-managed investment company. The reasons for investment are mainly to finance growth and corporate in sound SMEs.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek comprehensively supported the lending financing institutions in drafting, structuring, negotiating, and implementing the entire financing documentation.
In addition to funding the investment, the financing aims to fund the group’s general working capital requirements and to further reinforce the company’s market position through sustainable and stable growth.
