Shoosmiths releases 2022 United Nations Global Compact report

Law firm Shoosmiths has released both its annual ESG report and 2022 United Nations Global Compact report.
The Environmental, Social and Governance (formerly Corporate Responsibility) Report 2020/2021 includes details on the accountability and management of ESG matters, reporting of 79 ESG metrics and progress against 22 targets.
Our 2020/2021 ESG report is presented in the form of five appendices that set out:
- Accountability and management of ESG
- Progress against 2020/2021 targets and our 2021/2022 targets
- ESG performance data
- Our approach to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development addressing the SDGs
- Details about the 100 plus organisations and programmes we supported during 2021/2022
Shoosmiths’ 2022 United Nations Global Compact Communication on Progress Report complements the firm’s annual ESG report, providing the detail behind the firm’s ESG approach, progress, and plans.
The firm has been a signatory of the Global Compact since January 2016, upgrading to participant status in August 2021. Shoosmiths is also a member of the UNGC’s Network UK and takes part in its working groups on Modern Slavery, the Global Goals (SDGs), Diversity and Inclusion, and the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) as well as engaging with the Climate Action Group.
The Communication on Progress details our progress and commitments to advance the UN Global Compact’s 10 Principles on Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-Corruption.

Shoosmiths has been reporting on work in this vital area since the publication of its 2011/2012 CR report. The firm launched its inaugural Impact Report in July 2021.
