Han Kun welcomes two senior tax experts, further bolstering the firm's growth

Han Kun is pleased to welcome to the firm Ms. Dongni Jiang and Mr. Jing Shen, two senior tax specialists with years of professional experience. The additions will further enhance Han Kun's tax team and its tax service capabilities, bolstering the firm's overall practices in both depth and scope, as it continues its growth as a full-service provider. The two experts will be primarily based in Han Kun's Beijing office.

Ms. Dongni Jiang

Ms. Jiang is well experienced in providing tax advisory services in both China and the United States, involving areas such as investment and financing, IPOs, and high-net-worth individuals. She has successfully assisted over 20 private enterprises in their IPOs, has advised on several well-known M&A transactions in the TMT sector, and is a trusted tax consultant for many well-known enterprises and entrepreneurs.

Ms. Jiang has been deeply engaged in the TMT sector and has extensive experience in providing tax and business consulting services for multinational and Chinese enterprises. She is adept at providing tax advisory and planning services, tax restructuring and implementation for M&As, international operations, tax due diligence, tax health checks, tax preference applications, and tax risk management and compliance. She excels at implementing tax planning and is especially good at assisting M&A parties in applying for preferential tax treatment pursuant to applicable tax rules and policies.

Ms. Jiang also focuses on private client tax advisory services. She has long provided founders and senior management with individual income tax planning services related to stock incentives, family trust designs, and personal wealth management.

Prior to joining Han Kun, Ms. Jiang was a tax partner with KPMG. She has been engaged in tax consulting since 2005 and has worked for two of the Big 4 accounting firms. She once worked in Deloitte's International Tax Center in New York. Ms. Jiang has obtained CPA qualifications in both China and the U.S.; she also holds a PRC Tax Agent qualification. She has been recognized by internationally influential media such as International Tax Review and Euromoney Legal Media Group in their rankings of Best in Tax, Women in Tax Leaders, and Women in Business Law.

Mr. Jing Shen

Mr. Shen's tax practice covers a wide range of fields, including tax consulting for corporate M&A and restructuring, business model optimization, investment fund establishment, incentive share system design and tax planning, as well as tax matters related to family wealth management.

Mr. Shen's services focus on China's "new economy" markets and private enterprises. At the corporate level, he has been engaged in multiple significant large-scale M&A transactions in China's science and technology industries, such as consolidations among industry leaders, assisting overseas listed Chinese firms to go private and relist in the A-share market, and red chip structuring for overseas listings. At the individual level, Mr. Shen has served dozens of Chinese enterprises listed in different capital markets in terms of design and implementation of stock incentive schemes. As for public policy, Mr. Shen has participated in tax research projects organized by different government ministries and authorities, as well as seminars on individual tax reforms.

Mr. Shen obtained a Bachelor of Economics degree from Peking University in 2009, when he started his career in the tax department in one of the Big 4 accounting firms. During his time with the accounting firm, he also worked in Europe and the United States as part of the firm's international exchange programs.
