Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm welcomes Ms. Chai Lu as a new partner, further strengthening the firm's cross-border M&A capabilities
Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm has expanded its cross-border mergers and acquisitions capabilities with the addition of Ms. Chai Lu as a partner to the firm.
Ms. Chai's practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions transactions, private equity transactions and securities offerings and listings. She has represented private equity funds and the principal investment departments of financial institutions in direct investment in China, represented U.S. and European multinational companies in the acquisition or sale of Chinese businesses, and represented large Chinese state-owned enterprises and private companies in overseas acquisitions and asset disposals. She has also advised a number of clients in Greater China on SEC-registered and non-registered securities offerings and listings on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. She also advises clients on ongoing regulatory and reporting requirements. Ms. Chai has represented clients in a broad range of industries, including financial services, insurance, telecommunications, TMT, consumer goods, mining, power and energy, manufacturing and healthcare.
Prior to joining Han Kun's Hong Kong associated law firm, Ms. Chai served as the general counsel of a private equity firm. Prior to that, she practiced at the Hong Kong and New York offices of Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Ms. Chai is qualified to practice as a solicitor in Hong Kong and as an attorney in the State of New York. She also holds a PRC bar qualification.
Ms. Chai graduated from Northwestern University School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature and Bachelor of Economics degree in business administration from Tsinghua University.
