Han Kun represents Gao Hua Securities in completion of restructuring deal, giving Goldman Sachs sole ownership of Goldman Sachs Gao Hua
On October 18, 2021, Goldman Sachs announced that the China Securities Regulatory Commission ("CSRC") had approved Goldman Sachs' acquisition of equity held by Beijing Gao Hua Securities Co., Ltd. ("Gao Hua Securities") in Goldman Sachs Gao Hua Securities Co., Ltd. ("Goldman Sachs Gao Hua"), making Goldman Sachs the sole shareholder of Goldman Sachs Gao Hua.
Goldman Sachs Gao Hua, established in 2004, was a joint venture invested in by Gao Hua Securities and Goldman Sachs (Asia) LLC. The establishment was considered a milestone event given its special background, as the joint venture was among the earliest securities companies involving foreign capital following China's accession to the WTO.
Completion of the CSRC filing for the equity purchase signals new development opportunities for both Gao Hua Securities and Goldman Sachs, 17 years after the establishment of the joint venture.
