Han Kun Law Offices is delighted to announce that, effective January 1, 2017, 5 of the firm's counsels, Sheng (Sean) LI, Yaxing ZHANG, Jun WAN, Xin (Rocky) JIN and Bing XUE have been promoted to partner. Counsels Aaron Zhou and Adrian Lv have been promoted to salaried partner, and senior associate Ruina Liu has been promoted to counsel.

Sean Li specializes in mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and private equity investment, foreign direct investment and general corporate work. He has represented a large number of venture capital funds, private equity funds, strategic investors, and entrepreneurs in various industry sectors in their investment and financing projects, assisting in forming deal structures, drafting legal documents, and participating in negotiations. He has also advised foreign companies on their foreign direct investments, mergers and acquisitions, and local compliance issues in China. Mr. Li's clients cover a wide variety of industry sectors, including telecommunications, the Internet, media, technology, insurance, manufacturing, new energy, consumer goods, education, and logistics.

Yaxing Zhang's practice focuses on litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution, handling contract disputes, international trade disputes, employment disputes, intellectual property and technology disputes, investment and financing disputes. Prior to joining Han Kun, Mr. Zhang worked in a local court in Beijing, and has accumulated extensive experience from numerous trials, which enables him to analyze and judge cases from a more fair and objective perspective as well as to provide unique opinions. Mr. Zhang is also knowledgeable of evidence collection and cross-examination. In Addition, Mr. Zhang specializes in enforcement procedures, especially in property seizures, appraisals, auctions, as well as property liquidation and bankruptcy procedures.

Aaron Zhou's practice focuses on cross-border and domestic investment, mergers and acquisitions, private equity investment and venture capital investment. Mr. Zhou's practice covers a variety of industries, including technology, the Internet, telecommunications, medical device, healthcare management, clean energy and insurance. Mr. Zhou has represented many renowned multinational and PRC companies in their cross-border and domestic merger and acquisition transactions, and has acted for many foreign and domestic funds and companies in their private equity financing and venture capital investment projects. He has also helped PRC companies in their IPOs and listings on overseas stock exchanges and in the issuance of US$ and Euro bonds. Mr. Zhou has in-depth knowledge of and experience with legal matters involving a variety of business activities, particularly cross-border transactions. Mr. Zhou is also experienced in handling FCPA-related and compliance matters.

Ruina Liu specializes in mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, foreign direct investment, and general corporate matters. Ms. Liu has represented a large number of multinational and PRC companies and funds in different industries such as telecommunications, Internet, e-commerce, IPTV, exhibition, media and entertainment, education, advertising, pharmaceuticals, and biotechnology. Her legal services include assisting in forming deal structures, drafting legal documents and participating in negotiations.
