Hanson Bridgett's Construction Practice Ranked in Chambers USA and The Legal 500
July 6, 2022 (San Francisco, CA) – Hanson Bridgett LLP, an AmLaw 200 law firm serving all of California and beyond, retained top rankings from Chambers and Partners USA. The firm's Construction practice ranked Band 1 again (since 2018) and several attorneys received individual rankings as well. The firm also ranked on The Legal 500 list for construction this year.
The Construction Practice's Band 1 ranking is the highest ranking that can be received and is based on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, as well as other qualities most valued by the client. Hanson Bridgett is one of only two law firms statewide that received Band 1 rankings for construction in 2022. In addition four of the firm's Construction Partners are individually ranked: Howard Ashcraft, David Buoncristiani, Lisa Dal Gallo, and Andrew Giacomini.
Chambers cites this ranking as awarded because the Hanson team is known for "Maintaining a strong profile for its work in Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) development, structuring complex contracts across a range of construction schemes. Also advises clients on matters such as insurance coverage disputes, contract negotiation and surety disputes as part of its broad practice. Known for advising on projects in the infrastructure, healthcare and education sectors, among others. Able to offer expertise in CEQA and other environmental law compliance matters arising in construction projects."
The Construction group was also lauded by The Legal 500 with a Tier 4 ranking and Lisa Dal Gallo was named as a Leading Lawyer. The Legal 500 noted, "Hanson Bridgett LLP's niche focus on its integrated project delivery (IPD) is its standout feature in construction law, where it acts for a client base that includes some of California’s leading construction companies, as well as public sector entities and multinationals. Healthcare construction projects have been a major recent trend, UCSF Health’s $3.8bn reconfiguration of its Parnassus Heights Campus being a standout matter, led by practice head Howard Ashcraft. The group is strong in construction litigation, as well as alternative dispute resolution and conflict prevention, and David Buoncristiani and Andrew Giacomini are key contacts in that respect. Lisa Dal Gallo has a burgeoning reputation in the California construction law market and is also founder of California Women in Design and Construction (CWDC), an organization of professional women in the design and construction industry that hosts forums to discuss relevant educational topics and provide networking opportunities. Alan Bishop (Senior Counsel) and Donnelly Gillen (Of Counsel) are both up-and-coming. All named lawyers are based in San Francisco."
