On July 27, 2022, the Wuhan office of Han Kun Law Offices was officially opened after approval by the Hubei Provincial Department of Justice.

Han Kun has made a strategic decision to open the Wuhan office, its sixth following the firm's business expansion from Beijing to Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Haikou (in chronological order). Wuhan is the capital of China's Hubei Province and possesses both geographical convenience as a transportation hub in central China and unique economic advantages as the largest, most sophisticated area of the Hubei Pilot Free Trade Zone. Moreover, as a city that boasts a broad array of talents and innovation, Wuhan is well known for its tremendous education resources and strong talent cultivation system for sci-tech innovation. Han Kun, sharing the city's outlook for treasuring the value of talent, aspires to embrace the dazzling array of professionals in Wuhan to meet the growing appetite in central China for high-quality legal services.

The opening of the Wuhan office is concurrent with the launch of an education aid program which aims to fund Lidian Elementary School of Pantang Township in Xinzhou District, Wuhan. Lidian Elementary School, located in a rural area at the foot of Ta-pieh Mountains, is a remote boarding elementary school that currently educates 142 boarders, 242 left-behind children, and 25 students subject to targeted poverty alleviation. We expect this program to ease the school's financial burdens by providing daily supplies, school supplies, and upgraded teaching instruments, among others. More importantly, we hope that this program will spark ongoing concern and action for enhancing early education in remote areas of China and will convey our care, love and warm company to those children at the early learning stages of their lives.

Han Kun has been an active participant in philanthropic causes, especially education and talent cultivation. The Han Kun Youth Legal Scholarship program has been held for 11 consecutive years and has supported over 100 law students in their growth and the pursuit of their aspirations. On the establishment date of the firm's Haikou office, an "Adream Center" was launched jointly by Han Kun and Shanghai Adream Foundation to propel the construction of the Central School of Xinzhu Town, Ding'an County, Hainan Province. The Lidian Elementary School education aid program in Wuhan is our continued effort to promote public well-being in the education realm. It is Han Kun's aspiration to both establish a solid foothold in Wuhan to serve domestic and overseas clients and to continue to plant the seeds of public benefit and dreams by serving the cause of education and talent cultivation in central China.

In the meantime, Han Kun's Wuhan team will collaborate with Han Kun offices in other locations to give full play to the firm's strengths in investment and financing, fund services, financial and wealth management, intellectual property, dispute resolution, and corporate compliance, among others.
