Bradley Partner Buddy Cox Named Fellow Of American College of Environmental Lawyers

Bradley is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner Buddy Cox has been named a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers (ACOEL), a professional association of distinguished lawyers who practice in the field of environmental law.

Mr. Cox is one of 25 new ACOEL fellows selected for their distinguished experience, high standards of practice, and substantial contributions to the practice of law. The ACOEL is dedicated to maintaining and improving the practice, the administration of justice, and the development of environmental law. Membership is by invitation only.

Mr. Cox has more than 30 years of experience addressing environmental issues involving air, water, land and natural resources. He regularly represents clients before federal and state trials, appellate courts, as well as federal, state and local agencies. Mr. Cox has defended toxic tort and property damage lawsuits ranging from individual claimants to over 20,000 plaintiffs in a toxic action. He also works on remediation projects and has provided strategic counsel on permit requirements and environmental statutes. Mr. Cox routinely works on complex issues under various environmental laws and programs, including CERCLA/Superfund, RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, NEPA, the Oil Pollution Act, TSCA and FIFRA and state counterparts.

Mr. Cox has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2006 and in Chambers USA since 2018 for his environmental practice. He has also been listed in Mid-South Super Lawyers since 2017. Mr. Cox serves as vice president of the Alabama Brownfields Association and recently served as president of the Birmingham Bar Foundation.
