Shoosmiths real estate rounds off successful year with leading industry award

Shoosmiths was named Legal Team of the Year at the EG Awards 2022.
The awards brought together more than 700 real estate professionals for a ceremony at London’s Grosvenor House hotel on 2 November 2022. The judges recognised the law firm’s real estate practice for its pre-eminent expertise and commitment to client excellence.
It follows a triumphant 12 months for Shoosmiths real estate after being crowned Legal/Professional Team of the Year at the Property Awards and Planning Law Firm of the Year at the Planning Awards, with the firm now completing a hat-trick of industry accolades.

Shoosmiths operates across real estate investment and finance, full-service real estate, construction, planning, large-scale regeneration, and residential and commercial schemes.
The firm is assisting national clients, including being appointed to Lovell Partnerships and Taylor Wimpey’s legal panels. This last year has seen the team help bring forward key projects, including advising Aviva Investors on its first investment in partnership with build to rent developer Packaged Living, which will see the creation of 195 energy-efficient homes.
The firm also recently advised Revolution Bars Group on its £16.5m acquisition of Peach Pub Company, while also supporting AIB Group on its funding of the acquisition of a 999-bed purpose-built student accommodation development located in Liverpool.
Shoosmiths’ success is fuelling a rise up the legal rankings – gaining two new Chambers rankings this year, with two real estate practice areas promoted up a band. With 16 Band one rankings, it secures a place in Chambers Most Elite Law Firms in Britain table.
