Shoosmiths crowned Legal Provider of the Year

February, 2023 - Milton Keynes, England

Law firm Shoosmiths has been crowned Legal Provider of the Year 2023 British Credit Awards, hosted by the Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM).

Individuals, teams and organisations gathered on 2 February at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London to recognise and celebrate the stand-out achievements of the international credit industry.

Shoosmiths commercial recoveries team was recognised for providing the highest quality service and appropriate solutions to ensure the best outcomes for their clients.

As a result of their continued success, the team has grown to over 50 colleagues since 2019, supporting more than 100 corporates with over 30,000 live cases and over £164m of debt under instruction.

Paula Swain, head of Shoosmiths commercial recoveries team, was at the ceremony to collect the award alongside Gillian Crotty, Andrew Foyle, Kimberley Achurch, Abbigail Hobby and Gabriella Heathcote.

Paula Swain said: "I haven’t won a major sporting event, but this honestly felt that good! I regularly applaud our UK-wide team for their hard work and their excellence, but this is external recognition and praise. It lets us know that we are heading in the right direction, and that our team is being seen and appreciated in our market.

“I value this more than I can say. We thrive when we know we have a purpose, and this award has strengthened our resolve to keep going. A huge congratulations to my commercial recoveries colleagues across the UK – this win is yours, so thank you!”
