Norton Rose Fulbright's 2023 and tenth edition of Insurance regulation in Asia Pacific - Ten things to know about 20 countries is now available. The Philippine chapter was contributed by SyCipLaw partner Hiyasmin H. Lapitan with the assistance of partner Joan Mae S. To-Conejos and associates Roman George P. Castillo and Dece Christine C. Fulache.
The guide provides an overview and practical checklist of ten common regulatory issues for insurance companies. It also gives information on a jurisdiction's regulator, permissions for foreign insurers, restrictions on foreign direct investment, notifications or approvals for change of control, nature of the capital regime, group supervision and policyholder protection, and outsourcing.
