Heuking advises SITA on its investment in and collaboration with the urban air mobility provider Volocopter
SITA, the world's leading specialist in air transport communications and information technology, participated as new investor in Volocopter’s Series E Financing Round and becomes Volocopter’s preferred digital and IT systems partner for Vertiports. A team lead by Dusseldorf based Heuking Partner Dr. Martin Imhof legally advised SITA on its successful investment and the conclusion of a strategic partnership agreement with Volocopter.
Volocopter is a pioneer in urban air mobility (UAM). It develops electric, vertical take-off passenger air taxis (eVTOL) and cargo drones that are designed to fly autonomously. Volocopter brings UAM to the megacities worldwide offering sustainable and scalable UAM ecosystems with partners in infrastructure and operations to provide a new mode of transportation. In 2022, Volocopter launched a new Series E Financing Round to boost the worldwide certification process with EASA, FAA and other aviation agencies and the launch of commercial air taxi services in cities like Singapore, Osaka, Rome and Paris.
