Buchalter Adds New Shareholder in Denver
June 1, 2023. After the opening of its Denver office last year, Buchalter continues its expansion in Colorado with the addition of new Shareholder Jon Olafson. Olafson will Chair the Firm’s new Organizational Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging Group and is a member of the Labor & Employment Practice Group.
“Jon is a well-respected labor and employment attorney with a wealth of knowledge and experience in organizational inclusion and diversity,” said Adam Bass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buchalter. “We are so pleased to welcome him in Denver.”
Olafson is also an experienced complex commercial litigator and counselor. He regularly counsels clients on corporate and non-profit fiduciary duties and board governance, trade secret and corporate espionage, restrictive covenants, and employment discrimination litigation and counseling on a national scope.
Olafson is an award-winning consultant and leader with regard to organizational inclusion, diversity, equity, belonging, and authenticity. With a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University, Olafson uses evidence-based techniques and tools to benefit businesses and its people. Olafson has formed one of the first corporate and organizational-wide practice groups in the country, which takes into account an entire organizational view of inclusion and belonging that authentically reflects the business and its goals.
“I am thrilled to establish Buchalter’s Organizational Inclusion, Diversity, and Belonging group, and to work with such a talented roster of lawyers,” said Olafson. “The Firm’s remarkable full-service capabilities allow me to further expand my practice and offer our clients outstanding counsel on such important and business-enhancing work.”
Under Office Managing Shareholder Rob Hinckley, the office has quickly grown to 11 attorneys and 3 professionals. “We expect additional lateral hires in the very near future,” Hinckley said.
