Five Bradley Attorneys Named to 2022 North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society
Bradley is pleased to announce that five attorneys have been inducted into the 2022 North Carolina Attorney Pro Bono Honor Society. Leah M. Campbell, Matt S. DeAntonio, Rachel M. LaBruyere, Najla Long and Amy E. Puckettwere each recognized for providing more than 50 hours of pro bono legal services to North Carolina residents who are unable to afford legal assistance.
The North Carolina Pro Bono Honor Society is administered by the North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center, which launched in 2016 as a program of the North Carolina Equal Access to Justice Commission. The commission works to increase pro bono legal service by North Carolina attorneys to meet the legal needs of people of low-income and modest means in the state. The 2022 class, comprised of 552 attorneys, provided more than 60,200 hours of pro bono legal services.
The attorneys in Bradley’s Charlotte office are actively involved in a number of pro bono efforts, including working with Safe Alliance’s Victim Assistance/Legal Representation Program, which helps victims of domestic violence who seek Domestic Violence Protective Orders, and supporting the Charlotte Center for Legal Advocacy, which provides a wide range of civil legal assistance to low-income people in the Charlotte metropolitan area and west-central North Carolina. The office also supports the Second Harvest Food Bank, Council for Children’s Rights and Habitat for Humanity.
Bradley’s Pro Bono Program helps address the unmet legal needs of indigent individuals and charitable organizations. Attorneys from across the firm’s offices devote a significant amount of time each year to pro bono work, representing individuals in matters ranging from death penalty and human rights cases to intellectual property work for low-income inventors, artists and entertainers.
