Han Kun welcomes Ms. Lan Yu in joining the firm's Singapore office as a partner
Han Kun is pleased to announce that Ms. Lan Yu has recently joined the firm as a partner. She will be based primarily in the firm's Singapore office.
Before joining Han Kun, Ms. Yu worked for over 10 years in the Singapore office of a U.S. law firm, where she was a partner. Ms. Yu focuses her practice on private wealth, wealth management, and financial services and cross-border transactions. She has participated in advising over 80 high- and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family offices in Singapore on matters such as designing family office structures and applying for tax exemptions, family trusts, succession planning, applying for asset management licenses, and nationality planning. She advises many Chinese-invested multinationals on cross-border investment projects and partnerships, joint ventures, and corporate governance. In addition, Ms. Yu regularly assists PRC corporations in setting up a presence in Southeast Asia and in undertaking corporate restructurings.
Ms. Yu graduated from Peking University in Beijing with a Juris Master degree and from Columbia University in New York with an LL.M. degree. She practices as a registered foreign lawyer in Singapore, is a member of the New York State Bar, is a qualified solicitor of England and Wales, and holds a PRC bar qualification. Ms. Yu serves as the President of the Peking University Alumni Association (Singapore), as a council member and Head of the Legal Department of the Jiangsu Association (Singapore), as a legal advisor on foreign-related matters for the Jiangsu Lawyers Association, and as a guest lecturer at NUS Business School.
