Aron Beezley Quoted in Law360 on Top Government Contracts Policies for 2023 So Far
Bradley attorney Aron Beezley was quoted in Law360 about some of the top government contracts policies so far for 2023, including the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) proposed policy to prohibit employers from imposing noncompete agreements on their staff.
This proposal has been the subject of much criticism. Beezley said, "I think that when this rule becomes final, depending on what it actually says, this could have a big impact on contractors."
There is often only a relatively small pool of workers with the necessary skills for the contract, and, in some cases, the required certifications and clearances, he explained. Although rank-and-file workers can usually move freely among employers, key personnel are generally the deciding factor for agencies when assessing contract bids and are often tightly locked down with noncompetes.
"It's a really small and incestuous community," Beezley said, in reference to the workers that are often subjected to these noncompete agreements.
The FTC has not yet set a specific date for the final rule on this policy.
