Gianni & Origoni renews its governance and appoints six new non-equity Partners
Rome, July 24, 2023 - Following the Partners’ Meeting, international law firm Gianni & Origoni renewed the firm's Executive Committee, as well as top positions, and approved its 2022 financial statements and strategic guidelines.
Gianluca Ghersini and Luca Jeantet joined the existing members of the Executive Committee Antonio Auricchio, Giuseppe De Simone, Francesco Gianni, Emanuele Grippo, and Giuseppe Velluto. The new Executive Committee will serve a 3-year term.
Antonio Auricchio and Giuseppe Velluto were appointed as Co-Managing Partners. Antonio Auricchio, already Co-Managing Partner in previous terms, will hold the position for 18 months to ensure management and operational continuity; he will then be succeeded by Giuseppe De Simone.

The Partners’ Meeting thanked outgoing Co-Managing Partner Rosario Zaccà, who in recent years has dedicated himself with passion and energy to the management of the firm, achieving, together with Co-Managing Partner Antonio Auricchio, important goals in terms of efficiency, modernization, and organization – the framework to guarantee the firm’s stable growth and consolidated positioning.
During the Meeting, 6 new Non-Equity partners were elected: Maristella Boellis, Soo Youn Kim, Alberto Recchia, Donato Romano, Luigi Romanzi and Francesca Staffieri.
Maristella Boellis, who joined GOP in 2009, focuses primarily on civil, commercial and corporate and banking-financial litigation for Italian and overseas companies, operating in different industrial and commercial sectors, as well as investment funds, providing assistance and advice also in the extrajudicial context. She also has significant experience in domestic and international arbitrations.
Soo Youn Kim, who joined GOP in 2012, has been nominated International Partner. Co-Head of the firm’s Korea Desk, she specialises in M&A and cross-border transactions and assists leading Korean investors with their investment projects in Europe/Italy on the full cycle of investment operations. She also assists leading Korean companies with various corporate/commercial, employment, tax, disputes/litigation, IP and antitrust matters in Italy.
Alberto Recchia, who joined GOP in 2019, is an expert in corporate and commercial law. He assists private equity funds and companies, both listed and unlisted, in M&A and joint venture transactions in various industries. He has gained specific expertise in drafting acquisition agreements, shareholders' agreements and commercial contracts and conducting related negotiations.
Donato Romano, who joined GOP in 2009, specializes in M&A, corporate and commercial law. He has gained his experience, including at the firm's London office, in the field of acquisitions and divestitures of parcels of stock or shares, companies or businesses, establishment of joint ventures, drafting and negotiation of acquisition agreements, shareholders' agreements and commercial contracts.
Luigi Romanzi, who joined GOP in 2008, assists domestic and overseas companies in debt restructuring operations and, more generally, in corporate crisis law, including related litigation profiles. He also has significant experience in civil and commercial litigation, as well as in reorganization and turnaround operations through Bankruptcy Law arrangements and the Business Crisis Code, including attested reorganization plans, restructuring agreements and compositions with creditors.
Francesca Staffieri, who joined GOP in 2015, specializes in tax law. She assists multinational companies and groups, investment funds and other Italian and overseas institutional investors in merger and acquisition transactions (including debt), structuring and execution of real asset investments, project finance transactions, securitizations and other structured finance transactions. Francesca has also gained solid experience in the equity capital market and debt capital market sectors.
