Spilman Partner Neiser Named to AAA Roster of Arbitrators & Mediators
Pittsburgh — Spilman Thomas & Battle (Spilman) announced that partner Julian E. Neiser has been appointed to the American Arbitration Association’s (AAA) Roster of Arbitrators & Mediators.
Neiser was selected to join the AAA’s roster because of his experience handling a wide range of construction and commercial cases. He has won numerous verdicts/awards before arbitration panels and courts over the past 20 years. Within the last year alone, he won a jury trial in federal court involving a common law trademark and a multi-million dollar award from the AAA involving pipeline construction.
Neiser currently serves as Spilman’s Vice Chair of Litigation, Co-Chair of the Construction Practice Group, and Chair of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Group. He also is an adjunct professor in the trial advocacy department at the Thomas R. Kline School of Law of Duquesne University.
In addition to his construction practice, Neiser regularly handles a wide range of commercial cases involving employment defense, trade secrets, intellectual property, contracts, insurance coverage, and OSHA investigations.
Neiser also currently serves as a private mediator and is certified as a neutral and mediator for the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in Construction Law and Litigation - Construction and is ranked AV-Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
The American Arbitration Association is the world’s largest provider of arbitration, mediation, and other ADR services. Arbitration and mediation before the AAA are common in commercial disputes, and it frequently is the provider of choice for construction contracts, especially those that utilize American Institute of Architects documents.
