Shoosmiths celebrates best ever legal directories results

Shoosmiths has been recognised as a leading law firm in rankings released by legal directories Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500 are widely seen as the leading authorities on law firm benchmarking in practice areas by region or territory.
The 2024 UK Guide from Chambers and Partners launched this week with 96 practice areas ranked for Shoosmiths. The firm gained 17 Band 1 rankings, six new rankings and five promotions. The firm is the sixth most ranked firm in the directory.
In addition, 155 Shoosmiths lawyers attained an individual ranking, 22 partners are ranked Band 1 and 22 associates ranked as Associates to Watch. Six junior lawyers are ranked as Up and Coming while Eminent Practitioner status was awarded to Alex Bishop, the firm’s head of dispute resolution and litigation practice, and real estate partner Jason Jackson.
The Legal 500, released last month, confirmed that Shoosmiths received the highest number of respondents than any other firm participating and ranks the firm in a total of 91 practice areas, of which 33 are Tier 1 rankings. The firm was promoted in 17 practice areas and seven practice areas broke into the tables with a new ranking. A total of 272 Shoosmiths lawyers are referenced in the guide’s commentary for their standout contribution. With 128 UK rankings, Shoosmiths is fourth place in the list of firms with the most Legal 500 UK rankings.

The rankings follow the firm being placed 15th in Financial Times’ Innovative Lawyers Index and winning the TMT Team of the Year category at the Legal Business Awards, a year after winning Law Firm of the Year.
