On October 20, 2023, Asian Legal Business ("ALB"), the world's leading legal magazine under Thomson Reuters, released its 2023 ranking of China's Top Female Lawyers. The list highlights 15 female lawyers in mainland China who have delivered high-quality work in their legal practices and earned accolades from their clients. Han Kun lawyer Ms. Paula Liu is among them.
Paula has over 18 years of practice experience at top-tier international and PRC law firms, and has advised international private equity funds, multinationals, and Chinese companies across a broad range of industries on their investments and operations in China and overseas, inbound and outbound buyout acquisitions, joint ventures, disposals, and strategic transactions.
Paula's practice focuses on private equity and venture capital financing and mergers and acquisitions in China. She represents a variety of prestigious international and domestic PE and VC funds in their investments in diverse industries, and has represented multinationals as well as local companies in various stages of financing, strategic acquisitions, and other transactions. Before joining Han Kun, Paula was a partner at Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
