On December 20, 2023, Asian Legal Business (ALB) officially published its list of 2023 ALB China Top 15 IP Lawyers, aiming to recognize China's top IP lawyers over the past 12 months. Han Kun partner Mr. Rui Luo was named to the list for his outstanding performance.

Mr. Luo's practice focuses on IP litigation and IP-driven antitrust dispute resolution. He especially excels at representing multinational clients in complex and high-stakes IP-related disputes in China.

Mr. Luo is a veteran litigator with extensive experience in all types of IP-related disputes, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secrets, competition law and antitrust. In more than 15 years of practice, Mr. Luo has represented clients in IP disputes before all key IP courts in China. With his deep insights into the IP protection system in China, Mr. Luo has helped his clients win many landmark cases before the Supreme People's Court and other key IP courts/tribunals in China, and many of these cases were selected as model cases for the court system.

Mr. Luo is also experienced with SEP licensing transactions, assisting many leading licensees in both negotiation and litigation against almost all major licensors worldwide. Mr. Luo has represented clients in several high-stakes SEP rate-setting cases.

Leveraging his technical education background, Mr. Luo has represented clients in many high-stakes patent invalidation proceedings before the CNIPA related to telecommunications and semiconductor technologies. Mr. Luo is particularly experienced in coordinating patent invalidation proceedings with related infringement actions to maximize his clients' leverage and resolve complex patent disputes with high efficiency.

ALB published the list by assessing candidates from multiple perspectives, including the major deals on which they advised in the past 12 months, major clients which they served, past honors, and reputation.
