SyCipLaw Announces the Promotion of Two Senior Associates

SyCipLaw is pleased to announce the promotion of Diana Elaine B. Bataller and Gian Carlo B. Velasco to senior associates, effective January 1, 2024.
Diana is a tax and corporate lawyer, with extensive experience in tax proceedings and applications with tax authorities such as those for rulings, refunds and reliefs, as well as settlement of estates. She has advised on tax and legal aspects of corporate acquisitions, restructuring, and other commercial transactions. She regularly advises clients on incentive regime (PEZA and BOI) issues.
Gian is a litigator, having handled proceedings, and worked with teams in cases, before all court levels, including the Sandiganbayan, the Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court, as well as quasi-judicial bodies, such as the Department of Energy, Department of Trade and Industry, and Department of the Interior and Local Government. Gian is also an employment lawyer; he regularly advises clients on and assists them with labor compliance audits, labor relations, collective bargaining, and voluntary and compulsory arbitration.
