Law firm Shoosmiths has advised Singapore-based specialist rig inspection company MR Group on its acquisition of ModuSpec from global engineering and technical consultancy group, Vysus Group.

The acquisition of ModuSpec represents an integral part of MR Group’s strategic growth plan and has enhanced MR Group’s global operational footprint seeing MR Group become a global ‘one stop shop’ provider of in-depth rig-technology inspection and BOP services expertise.

A multi-disciplinary team of experts from Shoosmiths’ M&A corporate team advised on the deal, led by corporate partner Elia Montorio and principal associate Leah Cairney – with further corporate support from associates Kendra McCullough, Sarah Palmer and paralegal Connor Ogdon. Various specialists across other departments provided advice, including commercial partner Luke Stubbs and his team.

This latest transaction further cements Shoosmiths’ deep-rooted knowledge in M&A activity and ability to advise on international work, having recently been named the most active M&A legal advisor in the UK – according to Experian MarketIQ rankings.
