Buchalter Continues Growth Trajectory with Expansion of Sacramento Office

March, 2024 - Los Angeles, California

19 March, 2024. Buchalter is pleased to announce the significant expansion of its Sacramento office. In a strategic move highlighting the firm's vision for continued growth, Buchalter has secured additional office space at 500 Capitol Mall in Downtown Sacramento nearly doubling its original space.

With this expansion, Buchalter has signed a new lease bringing the firm’s total footprint to approximately 25,000 square feet. This marks the third expansion since Buchalter first established its presence in Sacramento in 2017, reflecting the firm’s dynamic growth trajectory in the last few years.

"Buchalter's expansion at the iconic building at 500 Capitol Mall reflects our firm's ongoing commitment to growth and excellence," said Adam Bass, President and Chief Executive Officer of Buchalter. "As one of Sacramento’s largest law firms, our priority is the evolving needs of our clients in Sacramento and this growth solidifies our place as a prominent firm."

In addition to expanding its physical footprint, Shareholder Elizabeth Stallard recently joined Buchalter’s Labor and Employment practice group from Downey Brand LLP. Focusing her practice on complex employment and workplace compliance issues, Stallard represents a wide range of private and public entities in access compliance matters, including in litigation and before state and federal agencies. In addition to her legal career, she serves as President of the Sacramento Zoological Society’s Board of Trustees, and is currently working on an effort to build a new zoo in Elk Grove, California. It would be the first new zoo built in a generation, planned to be about 60 acres in size (about four times the size of the current Sacramento Zoo), and is expected to welcome about a million visitors each year.

Buchalter also recently added to its ranks with the integration of Trainor Fairbrook's real estate and trusts and estate planning attorneys, including Charles “Chuck” Trainor, John Fairbrook, Colby Campbell, Candy Harper, Bill Davis, and their team.

Gregg Josephson and Josh Escovedo also joined the firm’s Sacramento office last year. Josephson practices in the Real Estate group, focusing on structuring, documenting and closing sophisticated commercial transactions. Escovedo has a diverse litigation practice with an emphasis on intellectual property, real estate, business, and sports law issues. With these recent additions, Buchalter's Sacramento office now comprises over 45 attorneys, solidifying its position as one of the largest law firms in Sacramento. Overseeing the expansion and recent growth is Jim Dyer, Office Managing Shareholder.

“Our location in the heart of downtown Sacramento offers an exceptional environment for our team to thrive and continue providing top-tier legal services,” added Dyer. “This office expansion is a testament to the quality of services we continue to offer to our clients.”

Buchalter celebrated its 90th anniversary last year, marking a legacy of excellence, innovation, and client dedication. Today, the firm boasts 17 practice areas and more than 35 industry specialties, positioning itself as a trusted advisor to clients across various sectors. With a team of nearly 500 attorneys across 12 offices, Buchalter continues to bolster its presence in key markets while offering a comprehensive range of legal specialties to meet the diverse needs of its clients.

“We chose 500 Capitol Mall, a premier downtown building, because owner and property manager, Angelo G. Tsakopoulos of Tsakopoulos Investments, and his team provide unparalleled service and originally welcomed us with open arms,” Bass said. “We are looking forward to settling into our expanded office space, and are excited for our future growth in Northern California and beyond,” he added.
