Shoosmiths expands Privacy and Data team with Brussels appointment of life sciences expert

Law firm Shoosmiths has announced the appointment of Gauthier Broze as a Privacy and Data partner and life sciences specialist in Brussels.

Gaulthier joins Kiran Desai, competition partner and Head of Shoosmiths’ Brussels operation whose hire established the firm’s EU presence.

Gauthier’s appointment not only enhances Shoosmiths' ability to offer comprehensive UK and EU data protection advice but also strengthens its position in the expanding life sciences market and health data space. With his deep understanding of EU data regulations and proven track record in advising prominent industry players, Gauthier will play a pivotal role in driving the firm's growth initiatives.

Gauthier brings more than two decades of experience as a certified data privacy lawyer, having worked with renowned international law firms and served as General Counsel at an international company. His expertise spans various aspects of data protection, including GDPR compliance and the intricate EU regulations governing healthcare, clinical trials and artificial intelligence. Gauthier is a member of the board of the Belgian Clinical Trials College.
