Hunton Andrews Kurth Advises on Georgia Power Company’s $117 Million Qualified Replacement Property Notes Offering
Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP advised the underwriters on an SEC-registered offering by Georgia Power Company (“Georgia Power”) of $117 million aggregate principal amount of Series 2024C Floating Rate Senior Notes due November 15, 2074 (the “Series 2024C Senior Notes”). The net proceeds of the Series 2024C Senior Notes will be used to repay all or a portion of Georgia Power’s outstanding commercial paper borrowings, if any. Any remaining net proceeds will be used for other general corporate purposes, including the Georgia Power’s continuous construction program.
Georgia Power is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution and purchase of electricity and the sale of electric service within the State of Georgia, at retail in over 530 cities and towns (including Athens, Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Macon, Rome and Savannah), as well as in rural areas and at wholesale.
