Bradley's David Pugh Elected Chair of Associated Builders and Contractors National Board of Directors
Bradley is pleased to announce that Birmingham partner David Pugh was elected as the 2025 National Chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) National Board of Directors. He was elected to the one-year term at the ABC’s annual Leadership Institute meeting held November 12-14 in Scottsdale, Arizona and will serve beginning January 1, 2025.
A long-time active member of the ABC, Mr. Pugh is a member of the executive committee and previously served on the national board of directors. He also served as the Southeast Region Vice Chair after holding several leadership positions with the Alabama Chapter.
The ABC is a national construction industry trade association with more than 23,000 members representing all specialties within the U.S. construction industry. Founded in 1950, ABC and its 67 chapters help members develop people, win work, and deliver that work safely, ethically, and profitably for the betterment of communities in which they operate.
A member of Bradley’s Construction Practice Group, Mr. Pugh has significant experience representing owners, general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, insurers, and sureties throughout the United States. He provides strategic advice to clients at every stage of the construction lifecycle and has drafted and negotiated contracts for numerous large-scale projects. He regularly participates in trials, hearings, appellate arguments, mediations, and arbitrations throughout the country and has argued before the U.S. Supreme Court regarding the construction of a natural gas pipeline. Mr. Pugh is also a registered patent attorney and has prosecuted a variety of mechanical, electrical, and chemical patents, as well as design patents and trademarks. He is listed in Chambers USA in Alabama for Construction and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2009, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” in Birmingham for Litigation – Construction (2022) and Construction Law (2019).
Mr. Pugh received his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and earned his B.S. in civil engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the American Bar Association Litigation Section’s Forum on Construction and the Alabama State and Birmingham bar associations. He is also active in the local community, serving on the board of the Irondale Commercial Development Authority since 2014 and on the board of First Priority of Alabama, Inc. since 1999, in addition to other leadership and volunteer roles for various philanthropic organizations in Alabama.
