Richard Cortés Joins Bradley as Senior Advisor of Banking and Financial Services
Bradley is pleased to announce that Richard (“Rich”) Cortés* has joined the firm as a senior advisor with Bradley’s Banking & Financial Services Practice Group.

Richards Jr., a partner and co-leader of the firm’s Financial Services Licensing team. “Rich brings a distinguished background that includes more than three decades of experience as a financial services regulator, which will be a tremendous asset to our clients. He has dedicated his career to evaluating and, through supervision, improving the compliance efforts of financial services companies. His real-world, practical supervision experience will prove invaluable. Moreover, his unmatched expertise in compliance reporting, particularly with respect to the Mortgage Call Report, is an incredible value add.”
Prior to joining Bradley, Mr. Cortés worked as a principal financial examiner for the State of Connecticut’s Department of Banking, where he managed mortgage examination and mortgage licensing functions and a 10-member team. His work has focused on enhancing standards in the banking and mortgage industries, including facilitating significant improvements to regulatory efficiency, effectiveness, and risk mitigation. In addition, he has trained hundreds of regulators in lending institution examination and licensing.
Mr. Cortés has created industry-leading examiner training programs on the SAFE Act, mortgage origination, mortgage servicing, mortgage compliance and examination methods, significantly improving examiner knowledge and skills. His experience also includes leading initiatives to enhance mortgage licensing techniques, improve examination processes, and strengthen multi-state collaboration.
Mr. Cortés received his Bachelor of Arts in finance from Central Connecticut State University.
